Job summary

Town of Groton is seeking a Van Driver for the Thrive 55+ program. This non-union, regular part-time role offers up to 24 hours per week and prorated benefits.

Starting rates and CDL considerations apply, with CDL or Class D endorsements preferred. The Van Driver will transport seniors for Dial-A-Ride, requiring a valid license and a good driving record, along with a flexible schedule including daytime hours and occasional evenings or weekends.

Required Qualifications

The Van Driver will be responsible for transporting seniors for the Dial-A-Ride program offered by Thrive 55+.Experience in public transportation with good driving and safety record required. Individual must remain compliant and abide by current state and federal licensure requirements.

Must be willing and available to work a varied and flexible work schedule which includes: day hours (primarily), occasional nights or weekends.

Knowledge of local area and an ability to work with a range of groups, including 55+, and people of all abilities, is desired. Must have exceptional customer service skills. The ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds, as well as bend, squat, push, pull, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Required Certifications/Licenses

This position requires a valid Motor Vehicle Operators License, either a CDL Class B with P endorsement is required or Class D with F endorsement required, an A endorsement is preferred.
