Job summary

The Town of Groton’s Parks and Recreation Department, Thrive 55+ program, seeks a van driver to transport seniors in the Dial-A-Ride service. This non-union, part-time role offers flexible daytime hours with occasional nights or weekends.

Candidates must have public transportation experience, a safe driving record and a valid driver's license (CDL Class B with P endorsement or Class D with F endorsement preferred). Must lift up to 25 pounds and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in public transportation with a good driving and safety record is required.
• Must be willing and available to work a varied and flexible schedule including day hours, occasional nights or weekends.
• Knowledge of local area and ability to work with a range of groups including 55+, people of all abilities; excellent customer service.
• Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport seniors for the Dial-A-Ride program.
• Maintain safe transportation and compliance with licensure requirements.
• Assist riders and ensure a positive, courteous experience.
