Job summary

Homewood Living Williamsport is seeking a PRN bus driver to transport residents to activities and appointments, upholding safety, confidentiality, and courteous care. You will operate a 14- or 23-passenger vehicle, follow policy, log trips, and report issues promptly to ensure reliable service for residents and staff.

This position emphasizes respectful treatment of residents and professional communication, with a flexible PRN schedule in a supportive, mission-driven retirement community.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive the bus/van to resident functions and appointments.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and personnel information.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
• Operate vehicle functions safely and use comms equipment for routine or emergencies.
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep a current trip log.
• Fuel vehicles after use and notify if fuel is low.

Job Summary

To drive the van bus to functions as requested for resident functions.

Essential Functions

• Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
• Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
• Drives the bus/van vehicle in a safe manner according to facility policy.
• Operates all functions of vehicles in a safe manner.
• Uses communication equipment for any routine or emergency situation.
• Promptly reports any and all suspected mechanical problems to the appropriate person.
• Maintains an accurate and current log (book) for each trip.
• Responsible for fueling vehicles after use. In some situations maintenance may be responsible for fueling. If maintenance performs the fueling then drivers will need to report and provide ample notice on a vehicle which is low in fuel.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Co-workers who drive the 23 passenger bus are required to have their CDL license. Included with the CDL is the physical that must be passed and random drug screening per the federal requirements of the CDL.
• Able to drive the van/bus in rural or urban areas.
• Ability to drive the van/bus in a way that residents feel safe.
• Treats the residents with dignity and respect.

Physical Requirements

Assistsin the loading and unloading of residents. May sit for several hours. Drives invarious types of traffic/weather conditions, bending, lifting and loading smallpackages up to 50 lbs. several times throughout the shift, able to change tiresand sitting for long periods of time.

Drive a 14-passenger Van/Bus, SUVs, and wheelchair vans to functions and appointments for residents. No CDL required for this job. GNA/CNA preferred. Valid driver's license required.
