Job summary

Care Initiatives in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a PRN Van Driver to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events. You will assist with boarding, wheelchair securement, and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs in a supportive care setting.

Requirements include a valid Class D driver's license, clean driving record, and CPR/first aid certification or willingness to obtain. Flexible weekend hours and a competitive wage accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D - Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No DUI convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs; communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs

• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with Class D - Chauffeur Endorsement
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish
