Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Van Driver in Iowa to safely transport residents to appointments, events, and outings. You will assist with boarding, wheelchair security, and maintain the vehicle. This role emphasizes compassionate care and reliable attendance, including weekend hours.

Eligible candidates should be at least 21 years old, hold a Class D chauffeur endorsement, and maintain CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No DUI convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies)
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends
