Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Valvetrain Component Design Engineer to lead global efforts in the design and development of valvetrain components for heavy-duty engines. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to deliver innovative solutions across world markets.

The role requires strong analytical skills, CAD proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects with advancing technology.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead a global team in designing Valvetrain components (valves, seats, guides, rotators, rocker arms, pushrods).
• Design and promote new components and sub-processes.
• Evaluate design reliability, durability, costs, and program alignment.
• Apply NPI processes, conduct FMEAs, plan validation, and complete validation activities.
• Assess new products, processes, or systems including supplier changes.
• Deliver projects on time and within cost for NTI/NPI/CPI/NSI programs.
• Communicate results to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Lead supplier collaboration and CPPD activities.
