Job summary

Valmet is seeking an experienced Valve Engineer II to join our New Product Development team. The engineer will design and develop valve products including gate valves for slurry severe service, trunnion ball valves metal seated API 6D for severe service, and API 6A ball valves rated at 15,000 psi.

The role requires CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD), plus strong knowledge of API 6D, API 6A, MSS-SP-81, and ASME codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 3-5 years of valve design and development experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes such as API 6D, API 6A, MSS-SP-81, and ASME codes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new valve products ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Create and maintain detailed drawings and specifications.
• Oversee prototype development and testing, analyze results, and adjust designs as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development.
