Job summary

Power & Data Management (PDM) is seeking a Value Stream Manager in Houston, hybrid role, to own end-to-end operational performance for an assigned product family—from production readiness and material availability through manufacturing, quality, testing, and delivery.

You’ll lead Production Managers and teams, drive Lean initiatives, remove barriers, and partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Finance to meet safety, delivery, and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 8–10 years of progressive manufacturing experience with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, problem solving, KPI-driven daily management.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall SQDCP performance for the value stream—safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
  • Lead daily execution of the production plan and align priorities with commitments.
  • Monitor throughput, labor utilization, WIP, bottlenecks, capacity, and schedule adherence.
  • Identify and remove barriers impacting material, production, quality, testing, and shipment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Production Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing, standard work, and daily management.
  • Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Finance.

Position Overview

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operational performance of an assigned product family or value stream, from production readiness and material availability through manufacturing, quality, testing, and delivery. The role owns execution, flow, operational performance, and delivery results across the value stream.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own overall SQDCP performance for the assigned value stream, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
  • Lead daily execution of the production plan and ensure priorities align with customer commitments and plant objectives.
  • Monitor throughput, labor utilization, WIP, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and schedule adherence.
  • Identify and remove barriers affecting material flow, production flow, quality, testing, and shipment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Production Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and other assigned operational resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, structured problem solving, standard work, visual management, and sustained daily management routines.
  • Serve as the primary operational interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Finance, HR, and Operational Excellence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; equivalent relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive manufacturing experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role with responsibility for production, operations, or a major manufacturing area.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety, quality, delivery, cost, workforce performance, production planning, capacity management, and operational performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, standard work, visual management, and KPI-driven daily management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, cross-functional leadership, and people-development skills, with the ability to resolve complex operational issues.
Nice To Have
  • Experience in electrical equipment, power systems, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, substation equipment, or other engineered heavy industrial products.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume, engineered-to-order, configure-to-order, or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Value Stream Management experience, Industrial Engineering or manufacturing engineering background, PMP or formal project management experience, and ERP or manufacturing performance systems experience.
