Job summary

Healthcare United in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a full-time Primary Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for a value-based healthcare organization. You will deliver direct patient care while guiding physicians, APPs and multidisciplinary teams to uphold high standards of care and drive quality improvement.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Active Louisiana medical license or eligibility to obtain.
• Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Significant primary care and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to medically complex patients.
• Lead physicians, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain clinical standards, protocols, and quality expectations.
• Mentor providers and support ongoing professional development.
• Oversee clinical performance, patient outcomes, and documentation quality.
• Drive quality improvement and population health initiatives.
• Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
• Maintain an active clinical presence and patient panel.
• Participate in leadership meetings and rotating call responsibilities.
