Job summary

Oak Street Health seeks a Senior Medical Director to lead market activity in value-based primary care while maintaining direct patient care at clinics 2.5 days per week. You will drive operational and clinical excellence, partner with regional leadership, and evolve the care model.

The role requires MD/DO/DNP, board certification in primary care, 5+ years outpatient leadership, and strong expertise in cost, quality, and patient experience metrics. Flexible, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in outpatient primary care.
• Minimum 3 years as Medical Director or clinical executive managing 20+ providers.
• Experience with managed care, value-based care, and payer-provider alignment.
• Proven experience analyzing cost, quality, and patient satisfaction data.

Responsibilities

• Lead Medical Directors across the region with team management and performance feedback.
• Coach providers on data-driven tools, quality dashboards, and care initiatives.
• Partner with services to build internal clinical leadership pipelines.
• Represent Oak Street Health with external health plans and health systems.

Education

MD/DO/DNP degree

Board Certification Internal Medicine/Family Medicine

Fellowship in Geriatrics or MBA/MPH/JD
