Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• Experience in valuation of private equity or credit portfolios preferred.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate quarterly valuation across PE and private credit portfolios.
• Prepare and review 25–30 PE portfolio company valuations quarterly.
• Perform valuation analyses (DCF, guideline comps, precedence) across equity and debt.
• Manage third‑party valuation providers supporting the portfolios.
• Collaborate with investment team to agree on valuations.
• Update public company comparables and market data used in analyses.
• Present valuations to the Valuation Committee.
• Work with a lean team of three, with significant ownership.
• Report to CFO with frequent interaction with senior leadership.
• Provide exposure across both PE and private credit valuations.
• Own credit valuation largely via external providers; PE largely internal.

A leading, rapidly growing alternative asset manager is seeking a Valuation & Portfolio Reporting Senior Associate to join its lean, high-impact Finance team. The firm manages a large portfolio across private equity and private credit and is continuing to expand its investment strategies and product offerings.

This is a newly created role driven by continued growth and offers significant exposure across the firm's investment portfolio, valuation processes, and senior leadership. The position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the investment, investor relations, legal, and finance teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on "doer" who enjoys working in a lean environment, can take ownership of significant portions of the valuation process, and has the potential to assume additional managerial responsibilities as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the quarterly valuation process across the firm's private equity and private credit portfolios.
• Prepare and review approximately 25–30 private equity portfolio company valuations on a quarterly basis.
• Perform valuation analyses utilizing DCF, guideline public company, and precedent transaction methodologies across equity and debt investments.
• Manage and coordinate third‑party valuation providers supporting the credit and private equity portfolios.
• Work closely with the investment team to evaluate and agree upon private equity portfolio company valuations.
• Update public company comparable company metrics, precedent transactions, and other market data used in valuation analyses.
• Present valuation analyses and conclusions to the firm's Valuation Committee.
• Join a lean team of three, providing significant individual exposure and responsibility.
• Report directly to the CFO, with regular interaction with senior leadership across the organization.
• Work across both private equity and private credit, providing broad exposure to alternative asset valuation.
• The credit valuation process is largely supported by an external valuation provider, while the private equity valuation process is more internally driven, creating meaningful ownership and exposure across both areas.
• The firm's substantial credit portfolio creates a high‑volume valuation environment with significant opportunity to develop expertise across a broad range of positions.
• This is a new position created due to growth, with a clear opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and managerial oversight over time.
• The firm is evaluating additional investment products and strategies, which could create opportunities to work on increasingly complex and interesting valuation assignments.

Location Note: 3 Days per Week in Office. Minimum of 2 Days in Greenwich, CT, with the remaining 1 day based in either the firm's Greenwich or NYC office.
