Responsibilities

Job description

Our client, a multibillion-dollar alternative asset management firm focused on the financial services industry, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Valuation & Portfolio Reporting team. This role sits at the intersection of valuation, portfolio monitoring, and investor reporting, working closely with the investment team, Investor Relations, Legal, and Finance.

Compensation

$150,000 to $180,000

What You'll Do

• Lead the quarterly valuation process across a diversified private equity and credit portfolio
• Draft 25-30 private equity portfolio company valuations per cycle
• Coordinate with third-party valuation providers and maintain valuation coverage across credit vehicles on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Maintain public company comparable metrics and precedent transaction data
• Present valuations to the Valuation Committee
• Support portfolio company monitoring, exit projection modeling, and value creation initiatives
• Prepare quarterly and annual letters to Limited Partners on portfolio performance
• Serve as a key partner to Investor Relations on investor requests
• Conduct deal monitoring and trend analysis, comparing actual performance to forecast and underwriting scenarios
• Help drive process, analytics, and technology improvements across the valuation function

What We're Looking For

• 5-7 years of experience in private equity or credit valuation, gained at another alternative asset manager or a top-tier consulting/valuation firm (e.g., Big 4, RSM, Grant Thornton, Duff & Phelps, Alvarez & Marsal, Lincoln International)
• Hands‑on experience with valuation methodologies (GPC, GT, DCF) across common/preferred equity and direct lending debt
• Strong data management skills — able to clean, organize, and analyze large, unstructured datasets for defensible valuation output
• Solid grounding in financial statements, accounting, and financial modeling
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong record of academic achievement
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred

• Experience with iLEVEL or similar portfolio monitoring systems
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or S&P CapIQ

The Environment

A well-established, multi-strategy investment platform with offices in both New York and Greenwich, CT; this role requires in-office presence 5 days a week, with a minimum of 2 days in the Greenwich office and flexibility on the remaining days between the NYC and Greenwich locations.
