Job description

Who We Are

Liquid Strategies is an Atlanta-based investment management firm developing innovative investment solutions designed to help investors pursue income, growth, diversification, and risk-managed outcomes. Since 2013, we’ve built a differentiated platform spanning ETFs, interval funds, separately managed accounts, and alternative investments.

We pair deep investment expertise with a creative, entrepreneurial approach to solving complex investment challenges. Our collaborative environment gives team members the opportunity to work closely with experienced investment leaders, take meaningful ownership of their work, and contribute to a growing firm where new ideas and thoughtful innovation are valued.

What You’ll Do

As our Valuation Specialist, you’ll take ownership of the valuation process for our interval funds, with a particular focus on funds investing in private credit and other complex, less-liquid assets. You’ll work closely with Portfolio Management, Fund Management, Finance, and external partners to understand the investments, evaluate and document fair value conclusions, and ensure a rigorous and well-supported valuation process. This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the CFO, with exposure to senior leadership, the Valuation Committee, and Fund Boards, and an opportunity to bring your valuation expertise into an environment where you can have meaningful ownership and impact.

Day-to-day:

  • Own the end-to-end valuation process for our interval funds and other alternative investment strategies, with significant exposure to private credit and other complex, less-liquid investments.
  • Perform valuation analyses and develop well-supported fair value conclusions, evaluating valuation methodologies, assumptions, market inputs, credit considerations, investment performance, and third-party pricing and valuation information.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our funds and their underlying investments, partnering closely with Portfolio Management and Fund Management to evaluate investment activity, portfolio developments, market conditions, and investment-specific risks that may impact valuation.
  • Drive the recurring valuation process across Portfolio Management, Fund Management, Finance, fund administrators, third-party valuation providers, and other partners, ensuring valuation activities are completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
  • Prepare clear and well-supported valuation reports, memoranda, and analyses for senior leadership, the Valuation Committee, Fund Boards, and Board committees, communicating significant valuation matters, portfolio developments, and investment-specific risks.
  • Serve as the primary valuation contact for external auditors and help maintain a rigorous, well-controlled valuation function by supporting audit procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation and controls, and identifying opportunities to strengthen valuation methodologies, processes, and reporting.
  • Play an active role in valuation governance, including coordinating the Valuation Committee and documenting key decisions, with the opportunity to assume increasing leadership responsibility for the Committee as the role develops.

What we Offer:

  • Great team and culture
  • PTO plus paid holidays
  • Medical and Dental insurance
  • Generous company paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid parking

Who You Are:

You’re an experienced valuation professional with at least 3–5 years of relevant experience and a strong foundation in valuing private credit and other complex investments. You’re ready to apply that expertise in an environment where you can take greater ownership of your work and have visibility into the broader investment and valuation process. You’re highly organized, comfortable working independently, and equally effective partnering closely with investment, finance, and leadership teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Advent APX or similar investment accounting platforms.
  • Experience preparing board materials, investment memoranda, or operational documentation
  • Experience interacting with fund administrators and external service providers.
  • Experience with interval funds, closed-end funds, alternative investments, or private credit strategies.
