The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 4+ years in xIL, MiL/SiL/HiL, CAN/Ethernet/LIN, and CI/CD. You will partner with global teams to standardize high-fidelity capabilities and enable enterprise rollout.

Qualifications

Our client, a leader in virtual vehicle development, is seeking a Senior xIL Framework Simulation Engineer to join their team. As a Senior xIL Framework Simulation Engineer, you will be part of the xIL Framework, Tools & Simulation organization supporting enterprise virtual validation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical leadership mindset, a passion for building scalable simulation toolchains, and the drive to partner across global engineering teams to standardize high-fidelity xIL capabilities.

Job Title: Senior xIL Framework Simulation Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)

Pay Range: What's the Job?

Architect and lead development of scalable xIL frameworks (SiL/HiL/ViL), ensuring modular, configurable, and reusable simulation architectures.

Drive integration and industrialization of the xIL tool ecosystem, including simulation orchestration/workflow engines, model and artifact lifecycle management, and data pipelines/analytics.

Define and standardize rest bus simulation environments, leading network simulation models for CAN, Ethernet, LIN, and FlexRay, including accurate representation of missing ECUs and system interactions.

Establish CI/CD integration strategies for simulation and testing, enabling automated, reliable, and scalable execution (including cloud-based and distributed simulation at scale).

Partner with global stakeholders across plant modeling, vECU/software development, architecture/integration, and validation/testing to drive enterprise rollout, adoption, training, and risk-aware program execution.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

4+ years of experience in xIL frameworks and virtual validation (MiL/SiL/HiL), simulation toolchains, and system integration.

Strong expertise in automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN) and rest bus simulation concepts.

Experience with test automation and CI/CD environments, including version control and branching strategies for complex system integration.

Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, influence cross-functional teams, and debug complex integrations using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
