Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Validation Engineer 1 for an Austin, TX role focused on processor interface validation with emphasis on power management. You will write test plans, perform electrical and functional validation, and troubleshoot issues across hardware and software toolchains.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on problem-solving, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and improve test and debug practices. Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees with related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0–2 years of related experience.
• Master's degree with at least 1 year directly related experience; advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write comprehensive electrical and functional test plans for processor interface validation.
• Execute electrical and functional test plans using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Debug electrical and functional issues for new processors and drive root-cause resolution.
• Provide input into platform definition and review designs used in silicon validation of new processors.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians.

Our client, a leading technology organization is seeking a Validation Engineer 1 to join their team. As a Validation Engineer 1, you will be part of a highly technical team that develops test plans, completes functional & electrical validation, and debugs issues for new processor silicon interface features with a strong focus on power management. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on technical problem‑solving, clear communication, and a drive to learn and improve test and debug practices.

Location: Austin, TX

Pay Range: $40 on W2

What’s the Job?

• Write comprehensive electrical & functional test plans for processor interface validation of processors. t
• Execute electrical & functional test plans for client processors using hardware & software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. t
• Debug electrical & functional issues for new processors, driving issues to clear root cause and resolution. t
• Provide detailed input into platform definition and review of platform designs used in silicon validation of new processors. t
• Deliver technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in planning, test, and debug processor validation.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor?s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0?2 years of related experience; or Master?s plus at least 1 year directly related experience (an advanced degree considered a plus). t
• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform-level electrical & functional test plans. t
• Platform-level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces is considered preferred. t
• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces. t
• Knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout documentation, and MS Windows and Office applications; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate across engineering disciplines and management.
