Job summary

The Blake Hotel in downtown New Haven is seeking a Valet Parking Attendant to create a positive first and last impression for guests as they arrive and depart.

You will park cars safely and promptly, greet guests with a friendly attitude, provide directions, and complete simple reports and documentation to support daily operations. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and seasons.
• Weekend and holiday availability preferred.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit strong guest service and a positive attitude at all times, greeting all arriving and departing guests
• Park cars in a safe, organized, and timely manner
• Remain in staging area regardless of weather, waiting for guests to need their car to be parked or retrieved
• Return to the front of the hotel in a safe and timely manner after a park or pull
• Provide claim check and instruct customers on how to reclaim vehicle
• Provide travel directions and information to customers when necessary
• Provide accurate and timely documentation and reports of departmental activities and status including claim checks, vehicle damage, statements and conditions
• Obey all traffic laws on and off property
