Penn Medicine's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the VAD Program as a VAD Coordinator. The role focuses on care coordination for patients with mechanical circulatory support devices and leading education for staff, patients, and families.

The position requires PA RN license, a BSN, and 3+ years of nursing experience, with 5+ years in cardiac surgery/cardiology ICU preferred. On-call with weekend/holiday travel may apply.

Qualifications

  • Active Pennsylvania RN License required at time of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 3+ years of relevant nursing experience required.
  • 5+ years Cardiac Surgery/Cardiology Intermediate Care or ICU experience preferred.
  • 3+ years experience with mechanical circulatory support devices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care coordination of patients across the mechanical circulatory support continuum.
  • Education and support for patients, families, and staff regarding VAD care.
  • Technical troubleshooting for VAD devices and staff education.
  • Maintain program quality and comply with Joint Commission standards.
  • Participate in research initiatives and clinical trial enrollment.
