Job summary

Windwave-Communications in Arizona is seeking an experienced Vac Truck Operator to support civil, utility, and telecom construction projects. You will operate hydro-vac and vacuum excavation equipment for daylighting, potholing, and non-destructive excavation while protecting existing underground utilities.

You’ll read utility locate markings and construction drawings, work with crews, perform inspections, and ensure safety compliance on active sites.

Qualifications

• Experience operating hydro-vac and vacuum excavation equipment on active construction sites.
• Proven ability to read utility locate markings and construction drawings.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine inspections.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate hydro-vac and vacuum excavation equipment.
• Perform daylighting, potholing, utility locating support, and non-destructive excavation.
• Read utility locate markings, site plans, and construction drawings.
• Work closely with construction crews, utility locators, and utility owners.
• Support trenching and excavation activities while protecting existing underground infrastructure.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
• Identify and report equipment or mechanical issues promptly.
• Complete job tickets, equipment inspections, DOT logs, and excavation documentation.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, company, and customer safety requirements.
• Support traffic control, excavation safety, and emergency response when required.
