Job summary

Edwards, a brand within Atlas Copco Group, seeks a pump repair technician in Florida to repair/rebuild vacuum pumps per manufacturer specs. You will inspect, test, and document results, working with OEM manuals and drawings, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role involves disassembly, cleaning, part measurement, shipping preparation, and occasional forklift use, with a strong emphasis on accurate recordkeeping and continuous safety training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year in a mechanic or related role required.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift and/or other heavy equipment if necessary.
• Proven history of working with hand tools and measuring devices.
• Proven history of working in a detail-oriented role.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, decontaminate, clean, and inspect vacuum pumps for repair.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, sand blaster, and pressure washing machines safely.
• Take pictures of pumps and upload to shared drives/SharePoint.
• Read OEM manuals and engineering drawings; measure parts for conformance.
• Assist in deciding if parts can be repaired or replaced; lookup part numbers.
• Repair/rebuild pumps per manufacturer specs and test for quality control.
• Prepare pumps for shipping: build pallets, band, shrink wrap, add documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean workshop and follow safety standards.
• Operate forklift if necessary; follow safety protocols.
• Record test results on work orders and complete required paperwork.
