Amtex Systems Inc. seeks an experienced VistA integration specialist with 7+ years in VA healthcare or VA supply chain environments to design and lead bi-directional VistA integrations.
You will explain ownership, involved VistA components, and outcomes, while ensuring data extraction, interpretation and validation for item master, PAR validation and WMS population. Requirements include deep IFCAP and GIP knowledge, experience with AEMS/MERS, and familiarity with VA procurement channels.
Prior ownership of a bi-directional VistA integration (required). You have personally been responsible for designing, building or leading an integration that both read data from VistA and wrote transactions back to it, and that went live. Be ready to describe what you owned, which VistA components were involved and the outcome.
7+ years of hands-on experience working within VistA in a VA healthcare or VA supply chain environment
Strong technical understanding of VistA's integration architecture: terminal emulation, interface (I/F) requests and data exchange with external systems (e.g., Medline, LEAF, GIP/non-GIP procurement)
Ability to extract, interpret and validate VistA data for item master build, PAR validation and WMS item master population
Deep working knowledge of IFCAP: fund control points, 2237 requisitions, PO creation, obligation and receiving
Proficiency in GIP: item master maintenance, PAR management, inventory counts, pick list generation
Experience with equipment management in VistA: EE# assignment, 2237-to-permanent transaction flow, AEMS/MERS, turn-in number generation and the 5-day registration window
Familiarity with ABC classification, UOM/UOI conversion factors and warehouse location structures within VistA
Experience with VA procurement channels: GIP prime vendor (Medline), purchase card limits and IDIQ contract receiving workflows
Knowledge of VA ATO and security compliance requirements as they relate to VistA-connected systems (TRM, PIV, POA&M, inherited controls)
Strong written and verbal communication, including writing interface specifications and translating VistA terminology for non-VA audiences
