Job summary

UNLV invites applications for a School Certifying Official (SCO) within the MVSC to manage VA Education Benefit certifications and provide veteran student support. The role ensures compliance, accurate certification processing, and effective coordination with academic services and financial aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with VA Enrollment Manager software preferred.
• Strong knowledge of VA Education Benefit regulations and higher education compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process and certify VA Education Benefit enrollments each semester.
• Apply VA tuition and fee payments to student accounts and handle overpayments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal VA programs and ensure compliance.
• Audit student schedules and degree plans for VA applicability and tuition calculations.
• Support veteran students with admissions, enrollment, and financial aid guidance.
• Plan and participate in orientation programs for new student veterans.
• Create content for MVSC website and social media; promote veteran events.
