Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a UX/UI Front-End Engineer Intern to maintain the Unifi Design System documentation site and convert content for AI-assisted development tooling. You will work with engineers and designers to learn enterprise-scale design system maintenance and documentation.

Applicants should be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CS/WEB/SE/IT or related field, with coursework in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Coursework or projects in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular as part of education.
• No professional experience required for internship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain content on the Unifi documentation site (unifi.nelnet.io) and align it with the design system.
• Convert design and accessibility guidelines into machine-readable formats for AI-assisted tooling.
• Perform front-end maintenance in the Angular codebase.
• Participate in code reviews and follow Git version control practices.
