Job summary

Alation, Inc. is seeking a UX Engineer I to join the Applied AI squad in Redwood City. You will contribute frontend code across the product, applying design sensibility to ensure consistent interactions and robust component reuse.

You will collaborate with product management and engineering on copilot interactions, data visualization, and generative workflows, delivering well-constructed frontend solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, HCI, interaction design, product design or related field.
• Proficient in frontend coding with React/TypeScript/HTML/CSS.
• Portfolio showing ownership of interaction design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute frontend code in production codebase with a clear, reviewable approach.
• Apply design judgment: color, hierarchy, component reuse, and progressive disclosure.
• Collaborate with PM/engineers on copilot interactions, data viz, and generative workflows.
• Iterate designs based on team feedback and user testing.
