Job summary

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is seeking a Conversational AI Designer to help craft omnichannel experiences for digital customers. You will collaborate with product, technology, research, and business teams to deliver clear, customer-centered interactions for intelligent assistants and chatbots.

You will work under senior designers, apply user-centered design methods, and contribute to data-driven improvements across multiple products and services.

Qualifications

• Three or more years as a Conversational Designer or Experience Designer for AI tools/platforms.
• One or more years working with chatbots, agents, or virtual assistants.
• Knowledge of IVR, speech recognition, or multimodal channels is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLM, NLU, NLP, ML concepts and prompts.
• Experience with Generative AI and large language models.
• Ability to work with APIs and complex data sets.
• Experience with Sierra, Dialogflow, IBM Watson, Rasa, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Create conversational dialog designs, prompts, scripts, and flows with guidance.
• Support planning, design, optimization, and delivery of virtual assistants in an agile setting.
• Collaborate with developers on design requirements and constraints.
• Apply user-centered methods to iterate concepts testable with users.
• Use data and user feedback to inform design choices.
• Frame problems, identify patterns, and visualize solutions.
• Partner with researchers and product owners on user research and metrics.
• Continue learning conversational AI, UX practices, and platform capabilities.
• Help measure design impact using qualitative and quantitative data.
