Job summary

Oomnitza, Inc. is hiring a UX Design Engineer to own the design system and component library that power our Product Engineering team.

The role focuses on a well-tested, documentation-rich platform allowing product engineers to move quickly without sacrificing design quality. This hands-on position emphasizes maintaining Storybook, building prototyping tooling, and guiding interactions that extend beyond existing patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in design or CS.
• 5+ years in product design and front-end engineering.
• Experience owning a production design system and Storybook library.
• Strong front-end skills: React, TypeScript, CSS tokens, accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the Oomnitza design system end-to-end: visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guardrails.
• Maintain and extend the Storybook component library with well-documented, accessible components.
• Build and maintain prototyping tooling to move ideas to validated prototypes quickly.
• Consult with Product Engineers on non-pattern interactions and add new patterns to the system.
• Collaborate with engineering to keep the design system aligned with implementation.
