Position Overview

The department at Chapel Hill is seeking a data analyst/statistician at or above the master’s degree level to collaborate with investigators and perform statistical analyses aimed at understanding trauma recovery. The primary responsibility will be analyzing longitudinal data from the ~$35 million AURORA study, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, involving complex data collection methods following trauma patients over one year. The role also includes analyzing data from other ongoing R01 studies and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data analysis and development of scripts/code to optimize analyses.
2. Writing and editing analytics methods for peer-reviewed publications and stakeholder reports.
3. Assisting with analyses of longitudinal data from the AURORA study and other projects.
4. Maintaining metadata and documentation of work performed.
5. Developing analysis plans collaboratively with the research team.

Qualifications

• Experience with R and Mplus software packages; proficiency in structural equation modeling preferred.
• Minimum of a relevant Master’s degree; PhD preferred, especially in social, applied, or related sciences.
• Strong statistical analysis skills, scientific writing, and collaboration abilities.
• Experience with bioinformatics research is desirable.

• Position Type: Temporary, hybrid schedule (in-office Monday-Wednesday, remote Thursday-Friday).

• Salary Range: $45.00-$55.00/hour.
