Position Summary:This position involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities include cleaning various areas, managing chemical spills, and ensuring timely delivery and proper storage of materials.
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 2pm-10:30pm
What You'll do as a Utility Worker:• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment across the building. This includes: aisleways, stairways, lavatories, lunchroom, general manufacturing areas, and plant office floors. Waste containers must be emptied daily and returned to the designated areas.
• Safely use all cleaning equipment and chemicals to perform necessary tasks.
• Removes accumulated waste from common areas and correctly dispose of hazardous waste as needed.
• Responsible for safe cleanup of chemical spills and blood borne pathogens as needed.
• Maintains parking lot, stairways and walkways in inclement weather. This may include sweeping, shoveling of snow and ice.
• Refuels and recharges material handling equipment and responsible for the daily maintenance such as cleaning the equipment, checking the oil, water, battery and lubrication of the equipment.
• Maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP or ISO procedures).
• Operate proper equipment per job
• Including but not limited to, hand trucks, floor scrubber, tenant sweeper, buffer, furniture moving equipment, cardboard baler and trash compactor.
• Move and arrange drums on pallet from floor.
• Weigh drums and bags of raw materials, calculate usage required and containers as needed.
• Is responsible for the delivery of the proper material on time to the various areas of the manufacturing processes or Distribution Center according to the requisitions or instructions given.
• Performs necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.
• With direction, supervision and training a Utility Worker may also:
• Operate forklift trucks and other material handling equipment for the loading and unloading of railroad cars and trucks.
• Prepare finished goods for transportation to or from the Distribution Center.
• Load and offload trailers and store finished and unfinished products in the proper place.
• Count and verify by proper item and lot number, materials during palletization, loading and unloading and stores all materials in the proper place.
• Occasionally performs proper palletization of finished or unfinished products and storing them in the proper place as designated.
• Moving and loading hazardous wastes, as directed by the supervisor.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor including a combination of Janitor and Forklift duties, bottle dump, case pack, label, sprayers.
