Job Description Summary
Location: Newport
Position: Utility Worker
Pay: $21.72/hr + incentive
Shift: Rotate 12-hour shifts

The Newport, TN paper mill has an opening for a Utility Worker. This position reports to the Plant Superintendent.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting in rewinding, slitting, strapping rolls.
• Assisting in removing broke, tagging, weighing, and storing in proper place. Assisting in loading trucks.
• Responsible for cutting cores on weekends and on nights.
• Responsible for keeping paper machine area neat and orderly.
• Unloading incoming waste paper.
• Supplying waste paper and scrap to pulpers.
• Spotting trailers for loading and unloading.
• Cleaning basement, canteen, rest rooms, plant grounds, and other areas as required.
• May be assigned to fill a vacancy during absences.
• Performing these and similar related duties as assigned.

• You have the ability to manually push, pull, and lift some equipment and materials as needed. In all instances that a mechanical means is possible, it is done in this manner, but some manual exertion is still required.
• Have an excellent work history in the areas of safety and attendance.
• Are able to work a 12-hour shift rotation, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Attention to detail as our customers expect consistently superior performance and exceptional value with each order that they place.
