Job Description Summary
Location: Newport
Position: Utility Worker
Pay: $21.72/hr + incentive
Shift: Rotate 12-hour shifts

The Newport, TN paper mill has an opening for a Utility Worker. This position reports to the Plant Superintendent.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting in rewinding, slitting, and strapping rolls.
• Assisting in removing broke, tagging, weighing, and storing in proper places. Assisting in loading trucks.
• Responsible for cutting cores on weekends and nights.
• Keeping the paper machine area neat and orderly.
• Unloading incoming waste paper.
• Supplying waste paper and scrap to pulpers.
• Spotting trailers for loading and unloading.
• Cleaning basement, canteen, rest rooms, plant grounds, and other areas as required.
• May be assigned to fill a vacancy during absences.
• Performing related duties as assigned.

• You can manually push, pull, and lift equipment and materials as needed. Mechanical assistance is preferred when possible, but manual effort is still required.
• You have an excellent work history in safety and attendance.
• You are able to work a 12-hour shift rotation, including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• You pay attention to detail to ensure consistently superior performance and value for our customers.
