Job description

NEW Water is looking for a dedicated and versatile Utility Worker to join our Operations team! In this full-time role, you’ll be essential in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our wastewater treatment facilities and associated systems. What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Mechanical Maintenance and Reliability: Performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on pumps, valves, piping, HVAC systems, and other equipment.
  • Facility and Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring our buildings and grounds are in excellent condition through tasks such as building repairs, painting, landscaping, weed control, snow removal, and general cleaning.
  • Safety Equipment Inspection and Repair: Maintaining a safe environment by inspecting and repairing safety equipment like fire extinguishers, and emergency lights, and by following safety protocols.
  • Additional Duties: You’ll also contribute to special projects, assist other departments, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
What you’ll bring to the team:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related maintenance experience in an industrial setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Knowledge of maintenance practices, tools, and equipment.
  • Skills in using hand and power tools, and a strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Good communication, basic computer, and math skills.
  • A valid Wisconsin motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
