Job Summary

Job Title: Meat Utility Worker

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Meat Department Manager

Maintains stock levels within the Meat Department’s sales floor by replenishing products as needed. Executes the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests behind the service counter and on the sales floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor
  • Receives, prepares, and fulfills guest orders and other special requests
  • Provides excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or in on the sales floor
  • Wraps meat and seafood in appropriate packaging
  • Ensures accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor- fills, rotates and removes product according to date
  • Supports teammates and positively contributes to the culture of the Meat Department
  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing the boomerang principal
  • Ensures high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display
  • Maintains proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.)
  • Maintains food safety logs and leads by example through following proper procedures
  • Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel

  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler

WORK SCHEDULE

The Meat Utility Worker is an hourly position that may be part-time or full-time. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
