Regis University seeks an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Responsibilities include ensuring safety compliance, supervising staff, and performing repairs. Under broad supervision, and self-guided activities, provides a variety of maintenance, oversight, and installation services to ensure the integrity of the University electrical and life safety systems and the safe use by the campus community. Makes changes and enhancements to these existing systems to promote safety and reduce risk, satisfy regulatory agencies, provide consistent and reliable use of existing facilities, and support University growth as directed. Oversees, supervises, and works as a lead for up to three individuals, and at certain times, more than three, in the electrical, mechanical, fire alarm, and emergency technical areas. Ensures all emergency and routine work is scheduled and completed. Assists the Superintendent of Utilities / HVAC / Plumbing / and Electrical and the Director of Operations in budgeting and recommending maintenance priorities and procedures in the electrical disciplines. Assumes the responsibility of the electrical division supervisor in their absence.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :
Assists with oversight and work leads for up to three staff members, including an apprentice electrical helper and General Mechanics I and II. Performs routine and non-routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of University power and lighting systems, including main distribution, feeders, conductors, branch circuits, and usage devices. Conducts maintenance and repairs on life safety and security systems such as fire and smoke detection, signaling devices, fire department interfaces, and emergency lighting. Performs preventative maintenance on transformers, switch gear, motors, motor control centers, sub-panels, lighting, and sound systems. Supervises the electrical section in the absence of the Electrical Supervisor.
Provides design support and contractor accountability for new system installations and repairs, including life safety systems, high voltage distribution, lighting, power, UPS systems, lighting control, lightning protection, and EMS controls. Ensures all building as-builts are updated post-renovation or upgrades.
Participates in routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical and lighting systems, infrastructure, fire alarm, suppression, lighting control, and energy management systems. Aims to minimize utility use and waste while managing lighting re-lamping to meet energy guidelines.
Assists in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including NFPA, NEC, Fire Authority, and OSHA. Maintains documentation of maintenance and service activities, risk factors, safe work procedures, and critical findings.
Follows safety rules and participates in training activities. Ensures contractors and vendors comply with safety and training standards. Operates tools, equipment, and vehicles safely. Assists in snow removal activities as needed. Performs other duties supporting the Regis mission.
Participates in emergency and callback programs to address facilities issues during off-hours, maintaining reliable contact methods for on-call duties or inclement weather.
Minimum Requirements :
Education :
High School diploma or GED, and a Colorado Journeyman Electrical License are required. A Colorado Master Electrical License, NICET certifications, and experience in electrical, fire alarm, suppression, or HVAC systems are preferred.
Experience :
At least four years of experience in electrical construction or maintenance at the journeyman level or higher. Broad electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred. NICET levels 1 and 2 certifications are desirable, with a goal to attain within one year of hire. Experience with asbestos safety, electrical systems, supervision, and support for other trades is beneficial.
Working Conditions :
Works in dusty, wet, cold, hot, noisy environments, outdoors in all weather conditions. Overtime, weekend, and evening work may be required. Must carry a 2-way radio and be reachable for on-call duties. A valid Colorado Driver's License and insurability are mandatory, with immediate reporting of any driving record changes during employment.
