Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor-focused team. The role involves pruning and removing trees for major electric utility providers, using safe techniques and industry guidelines.

You will operate equipment and collaborate with ground crews and forepersons while enjoying an outdoor office view. There is an emphasis on safety, training, and career development, with benefits and a nationwide presence across major US cities through an employee-owned

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to complete onboarding orientation upon hire.
• Requires valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Preferred: line clearance experience and any state pesticide licenses when allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees for utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other structures.
• Operate tools safely, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and other equipment.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
