Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to service the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred; must have valid driver’s license and complete Davey Tree orientation and safety courses on hire. You’ll perform pruning and removal work for major electric utilities, operate chainsaws and other equipment, and work as part of a crew with safety and efficiency as priorities.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Preferred CDL-A or CDL-B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune and remove trees safely for major electric utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Additional Information

What We Offer:

• Hourly rate $24.00 - 26.00 based on line clearance/industry experience and/or if a CDL holder.
