Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor crew in Ardmore, OK. Your office is outdoors, with a new view each day, and you will work on pruning and removing trees for major utility providers.

You will undergo orientation and safety training on hire, including First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving. A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL and pesticide licenses preferred where state law applies.

Qualifications

• Outdoors readiness and interest in outdoor work.
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement preferred; pesticide licenses may be required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning and removal work safely for major utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Work as a crew member with ground crew and foreperson; contribute to team safety and efficiency.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
