Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer in Fort Smith, AR. The role involves climbing, pruning and removing trees for major electric utilities, using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and operating standard grounds equipment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide and related licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees safely.
• Remove broken limbs from trees, lines, roofs and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Advise how high you grow depends on you.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
• How high you grow depends on you!
