Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Trimmer to join our outdoor-focused team. Your office is the view outside as you perform tree pruning and removal for major electric utilities, operating chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts in safe, efficient teamwork.

We value safety certifications and outdoor enthusiasm; a valid driver’s license is required, with CDL preferred, and industry credentials such as ISA/TCIA certifications are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal work for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove/damage repair as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and structures.
• Identify trees using industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground crew.
• Growth potential depends on the individual.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications
