Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer for the Carroll County, Ohio region.

The role involves pruning and removing trees to support major electric utility providers; climbing is preferred with experience in DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems. You’ll join a team outdoors, using tools like chainsaws and aerial lifts, and you’ll be expected to complete Davey Tree orientation and safety trainings on hire.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Active driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Prune treetops and remove trees as needed for utility clearance.
• Remove broken limbs from around utilities, roofs, and other structures.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts safely.
• Collaborate with ground crew and foreperson on job sites.
• Apply industry pruning guidelines and tree identification knowledge.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Carroll County, Ohio region.

Job Duties

What You'll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We're Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver's license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
