Job summary

Wolf Tree, Inc. in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor team. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll work on-site providing tree care for major electric utility providers.

You’ll climb, prune and remove trees, operate equipment safely, and support crew and foreperson. Valid license required; CDL preferred; training and advancement opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Ability to complete a safety orientation and required trainings upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred for this utility tree crew.
• Experience in line clearance or related tree work is a plus.
• Possession of ISA/TCIA certifications is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems as required.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely for major utilities.
• Prune treetops, repair damaged trees, and remove broken limbs.
• Remove limbs from lines, roofs and other structures as needed.
• Apply tree knowledge and pruning guidelines in the field.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment safely.
• Work as a crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
