Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring a utility tree trimmer to join our on-site team working with major electric utilities across Oklahoma City and nearby locations.

You’ll climb, prune and remove trees, operate chainsaws and equipment, and work with a crew under a foreperson. A valid driver's license is required, CDL preferred, and safety training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certifications as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist/Tree Worker and TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for utility clients, including treetops and damaged trees.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other objects.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws and chippers.
• Work as part of a crew under a foreperson and ground crew.
• Grow height opportunities based on performance.

Compensation Data

Compensation based on experience is: $17.50 - $23.00 hour.

Job Duties

What You'll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We're Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
