Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Tree Climber in Charleston, SC, to perform climbing, pruning, and removal of trees while adhering to safety protocols and company procedures. The role requires experience with working around power lines and the ability to travel for storm restoration as needed.

The position offers overtime opportunities and a pay range based on experience. CDL is preferred, and a background check including drug screening is required. 4‑10 hour work days with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years professional tree climbing experience.
• 1+ year experience around power lines preferred.
• CDL is preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Must meet I-9 requirements and E-Verify participation.
• Must be able to travel for storm restoration work as needed.
• Safety training and PPE use required.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of tools and equipment.
• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules in the work area.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
