City of Houston's Houston Public Works Department seeks a dedicated technician to support the Houston Drinking Water Operations/Systems Maintenance. You will troubleshoot water utility operations, perform distribution system maintenance, operate valves, review GEOLINKS, and coordinate with other staff to ensure safe and reliable service.
Responsibilities include reporting, data tracking, and preparing records for assignments, with on-site work across various locations.

This position routinely requires lifting moderately heavy items (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis. There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions.
This is a Department of Public Works and Engineering Emergency Management Position at the Tier I Level.
Requires a high school diploma, GED, or the ability to read, write, add, subtract, and follow oral and/or basic written instructions at a level necessary for successful job performance supplemented by specialized courses or training in the operation of the equipment/instruments.
Six (6) months of general maintenance/work experience are required.
Requires a valid Texas Driver License and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving.
