Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks a Utility and Systems Manager for the National Ignition Facility (NIF) to lead asset reliability and maintenance for complex facility systems. The role interfaces with NIF-PS, operations, and design teams to ensure dependable operation of critical laser facilities.

This position requires full-time onsite work and involves coordinating repairs, upgrades, and reliability metrics while supporting weekend and night shifts as needed. U.S.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, technical management, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience operating integrated plant and/or laser facility with full engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical expertise to asset reliability management for complex utility and facility systems.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair, and upgrades with LLNL Operations and Business teams.
• Collaborate with laser shot operations and maintenance periods.
• Provide 24/7 NIF operations support and lead weekend/night shift activities as needed.
• Train, lead, and mentor technical staff on asset management.
• Develop tests, troubleshooting plans, and lead process-improvement initiatives.
