Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher to maintain sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at a private school in Washington, DC. The role includes dishwashing, set-up, and food-service support in a fast-paced environment. Must pass FBI background check and be able to lift 50 lbs. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Shift is Monday–Friday 7a–5p with weekends as needed; 9 months length; location in the heart of Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Must pass an FBI background check.
• Dishwashing experience preferred (1 year).
• Available Monday–Friday 7a–5p with weekends as needed.
• Ability to work in a hot, humid environment.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate dish machine to clean and sanitize dishes, trays, silverware, and cookware.
• Record dish-machine temperatures and report issues.
• Transport supplies and assist in dining area setup.
• Clean cafeteria areas and replenish supplies during service.
• Maintain sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, sweeping and mopping floors.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products per safety procedures.

Utility Steward/Dishwasher

Full-Time 9 Month hourly - 19 Pay Full-Time Washington, DC, US

Salary Range: $18.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at a private school located in the heart of Washington, DC.

• Full-time
• Must be available to work: Monday-Friday, between 7a-5p and weekends as needed
• $18-$22 per hour

What the Utility Steward will do:

• Set up and operate dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, to include sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned

• Must pass an FBI background check
• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred)
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility: ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 50lbs.
• Ability to adhere to company safety and sanitation procedures
• Good communication skills and a great attitude
