Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Utility Steward at a private men’s college in Farmville, VA. You will maintain sanitation across kitchen, cafeteria and dining rooms, operate dishwashing equipment, and support safe food handling procedures.

The role requires reliability, flexibility, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs in a hot, humid environment while contributing to a fast-paced team focused on guest service and food safety.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred)
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility; ability to switch between tasks and responsibilities as needed
• Reliability and a willingness to work in a hot, humid environment
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to adhere to company safety and sanitation procedures
• Good communication skills and a great attitude

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine to clean and sanitize dishes, trays, and utensils.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, report issues promptly.
• Transport supplies and assist in dining area setup.
• Clean cafeteria areas during and after meals, replenish as needed.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas.
• Assist with receiving and storing food products per food safety procedures.
• Perform duties under food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties as assigned

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Utility Steward responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at a private men's college located in Farmville, VA.

• Hours will vary: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
• $14.00 Per Hour

What You Will Do

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal periods and replenish them to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storing food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties under food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned
