Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Utility Steward/Dishwasher to maintain the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at an independent Episcopal private day school in NW Washington, DC. Schedule will be from 7 am-3:30 p.m.

(OT on evenings and weekends as needed for catering); Monday-Friday work week; $18.00 Per Hour. The Dishwasher will perform dishwashing, sanitize surfaces, assist in dining area setup, and help with food handling following safety rules.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort working in hot, humid conditions.
• Willingness to follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots and pans.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately.
• Transport related supplies and assist in setup of dining and serving areas.
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal period and replenish to ensure service without interruption.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, to include sweeping, mopping floors and removal of trash.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
• Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Be able to lift 30-50lbs.
• Other duties, as assigned.

What The Dishwasher Will Do

What The Dishwasher Will Need
