Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-Time Utility Steward to maintain sanitation across the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at The Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA. The role requires availability 11 am–7:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with a pay rate of $20 per hour.

Ideal candidates will have dishwashing experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position emphasizes food safety and sanitation best practices.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwashing experience (1 year preferred).
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility: ability to switch between tasks as needed.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Ability to stand/move for long periods and lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to adhere to safety and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication skills and great attitude.
• Must pass the employment background process.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots and pans.
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures and report issues promptly.
• Transport related supplies and assist in dining area setup.
• Clean cafeteria areas and replenish them to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning pots and pans.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas.
• Assist with receiving and storage of food and food preparation following food safety procedures.
• Perform all duties according to best practices for food safety and sanitation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-Time Utility Steward responsible for maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room at The Governor's Academy, a prestigious independent day and boarding school located in Byfield, MA.

• Must be available to work 11 am-7:30 pm; Tuesday- Saturday
• $20 per hour
• Great Customer Service Skills and Dishwashing Experience needed

What The Utility Steward Will Do

• Set up and operate the dish machine for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, trays, silverware, glassware, pots, and pans: scrape, separate, and organize items
• Note and record dish-machine temperatures, reporting low temperatures or machine malfunctions immediately
• Transport related supplies and assist in the setup of dining and serving areas
• Clean cafeteria areas throughout and after meal periods and replenish them to ensure service without interruption
• Set up and use a three-compartment sink for cleaning and sanitizing pots and pans
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and removal of trash
• Assist with receiving and storage of food products and food preparation following correct food handling procedures to ensure food safety
• Perform all duties according to food safety and sanitation best practices
• Other duties, as assigned
