Job summary

Sycuan is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to provide clean dishes and utensils and maintain sanitary kitchens in our facility in California. You will load and run the dishwasher, prepare vegetables, and ensure safe handling of food products according to production sheets.

The role emphasizes teamwork, English communication, and the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers Card is required.
• CA Driver’s License in good standing is required.
• Dishwashing experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload the dishwasher to provide clean pots, pans, and dishes.
• Maintain kitchen safety by organizing soiled items, mopping spills, and posting wet-floor signs.
• Prepare food products by cutting, slicing, and portioning as per production sheets.
• Keep kitchen and dumpster areas sanitary by cleaning counters, floors, shelves and waste areas.
• Ensure storage areas are clean and organized, wiping shelves and sweeping floors.
• Monitor chemical and supply usage to stay within established guidelines.

Job Purpose:

Provides clean dishes and utensils, and maintains safe, sanitary kitchens

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

1. Provides kitchen with adequate supply of clean pots, pans, and dishesby loading, operating, and unloading dishwasher, manually washing items as needed, drying clean dishes, and putting them away in the appropriate area for distribution to the restaurant. -50%
2. Ensures kitchen safetyby organizing soiled pots, pans, and dishes prior to loading them in to dishwasher, mopping and cleaning spills, and placing caution signs on wet floors and in hazardous areas according to established procedures. -20%
3. Provides kitchen with food productsby cutting, slicing, chopping and cleaning vegetables, preparing food product according to production sheets, and portioning desserts and condiments.- 10%
4. Maintains sanitary kitchen and orderly dumpster areaby cleaning counters, floors, shelves, walls, ceilings and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash cans, breaking down boxes, clearing alley and dumpster area, and disposing of trash according to established procedures. -10%
5. Ensures a clean and orderly storage areaby arranging and straightening food products and equipment, wiping shelves and counters, disposing of empty cartons, boxes and trash, and sweeping and mopping storage area floors.- 5%
6. Ensures chemicals, equipment, and supply costs are within established guidelinesby regulating the amounts of chemicals and supplies used, minimizing waste of product, and notifying food service supervisor of needed repairs on defective or damaged machinery and/or equipment. -5%
