Job summary

City of Concord is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain city grounds, right of ways, facilities, roadways, drainage, and stormwater infrastructure. The role may involve installing and repairing related infrastructure as needed.

The position requires performing debris removal, loading supplies, catch basin maintenance, and clearing rights of way through landscaping as required by each job.

The purpose of this position is to maintain City grounds, right of ways, and facilities, roadways, drainage, and/or install and repair City stormwater infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Digs holes, installs piping, and performs debris removal after job is complete.
• Loads truck with supplies and materials needed to complete the job.
• Provides catch basin maintenance as needed.
• Clear Right of Way by performing landscaping as needed per job.

• Performs other similar duties as required.

Licensing and Certifications:

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

• Very Heavy: Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 - 100 pounds frequently, or from 20 up to 50 pounds constantly.
• Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise and vibration, and physical hazards.
