Job summary

City of Concord, NC, is seeking a utility technician helper to assist in construction projects, water line repair/installation and maintenance of the water system. The role involves physical labor in field conditions and supporting skilled water workers.

The ideal candidate holds a valid NC driver's license, is able to perform heavy lifting, and can follow safety procedures. Training provided, and a strong work ethic is essential.

Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Digs holes, installs piping, and performs debris removal after job is complete.
• Replaces non-operating meters, meter boxes, and lids.
• Discontinues and reinstates water services and secures final reading for customer service.
• Installs, repairs, and services water lines, fire hydrants and valves.
• Loads truck with supplies and materials needed to complete the job.

Supplemental Functions:

• Performs other similar duties as required.

Licensing and Certifications:

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
